Machine Shop: Lesson 4 - Basic hand tools, their proper use and care.

Shown is a student toolbox with the most often-used hand tools. After instruction in this class, students may check out the toolbox and use hand tool in the lab area. 
 

     
A few of the hand tools that are discussed and demonstrated are screwdrivers, ball peen hammer & punch, hacksaw, file, vice grips, adjustable wrench, slip joint pliers open and box end wrenches as well as ratchet and socket wrenches.      
 
Also covered in class is the proper operation and use of larger manually operated tools such as the bench vice, the hand operated arbor press, and manual punch press.
